چکیده

ABSTRACT Rigid-flex circuit boards are becoming more prevalent as the limits pushed on size, mass, and geometry of electronic systems. A key aspect designing a rigid-flex printed (PCB) system is an assessment dynamic properties PCB predicting performance under loading. Among current modeling methodologies for PCB, simplified methodology that adequately captures dynamics does not exist. This article presents novel, computationally efficient approach systems calibration material models via modal testing. The resulting model able to capture frequencies, mode shapes, representative force-displacement behavior. proposed used NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Pop-Up Flat Folding Explorer Robot (PUFFER) assess sensitivity input parameters.

Finite element modeling of non-rigid origami

Origami has become a source of inspiration in engineering for structural design and the creation of mechanical metamaterials. In the often used analytic geometric and energy methods, it is difficult to incorporate deformation of the faces in non-rigid origami. However, deformation of the faces can play a significant role in their mechanical behaviour. This thesis aims to investigate and improve...

Finite element modeling of environmental effects on rigid pavement deformation

In this study, finite element (FE)-based primary pavement response models are employed for investigating the early-age deformation characteristics of jointed plain concrete pavements ( JPCP) under environmental effects. The FE-based ISLAB (two-and-one-half-dimensional) and EverFE (three-dimensional) software were used to conduct the response analysis. Sensitivity analyses of input parameters us...

3D Finite element modeling for Dynamic Behavior Evaluation of Marin Risers Due to VIV and Internal Flow

The complete 3D nonlinear dynamic problem of extensible, flexible risers conveying fluid is considered. For describing the dynamics of the system, the Newtonian derivation procedure is followed. The velocity field inside the pipe formulated using hydrostatic and Bernoulli equations. The hydrodynamic effects of external fluids are taken into consideration through the nonlinear drag forces in var...
